J A A F A R
A middle eastern jazz Arabic funk fusion ensemble that originates from the Raleigh/Durham Triangle of NC. JAAFAR are no longer just “local boys”. They have just recently completed their 2nd tour of Cairo, Egypt, been invited to perform at The Conga Square Jazz Festival in Calcutta, India 2 years in a row, and a jazz festival in Poland as well. The instrumentation is usually bass, oud, keys, dumbek, drum set, sometime a double neck guitar is thrown into the mix. It is an awesome blend of western and eastern ideas fusing seamlessly through “traditional” oriental themes, and western jazz/ funk. We have many reviews, MP3’s, pictures, etc. so please explore the JAAFAR website.

-A SPECIAL PERFORMANCE-

JAAFAR had the great thrill of opening up for JONAS HELLBORG, JEFF SIPE, PAUL HANSON for a 3 day stay at TEMPLE BALL GALLERY Sept. 15-17 2004. We are very honoured to have been a part of this great event. Thanks to Jonas, Jeff, Paul, Souvik ( from ABSTRACTLOGIX.COM ), and Rick from Temple Ball for making this incredible event possible.
