Expanding the sound of jazz. |
The Cole Quartet performs Standard Jazz , New Funk Jazz (Charlie Hunter, Medeski Martin&Wood, John Scofield, Stanton Moore, etc.), and a fusion of Original Jazz. "We like to put new faces on old classics - Charles Mingus, John Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, Duke Ellington, Thelonius Monk, Miles Davis (we do not play So What or All Blues), Pat Martino, and expand the funk side of things with Soulive, Bill Withers, The Meters, Maceo Parker&James Brown,Prince, Stevie Wonder, Weather Report, Jaco Pastorius, Pat Methany,....I think you get the picture." We were fortunate to have had the oppurtunity to open up for Charlie Hunter, and Derek Trucks. |
