One of the best unheard of fusion ensembles emerging in the mid 90's, and just as quickly dissolving back into the ashes of the ether from whence it came. North Carolina has truly given birth to some amazing things and people.

Imagine if you will: If Black Sabbath were to engage in familiars with King Crimson, and The Mahavishnu Orchestra, you may come close to experiencing the energy of KungFusion. With Black Sabbath like grooves, “heavy” background influences on the drums, lyrical melodic guitar ripping ala Coltrane and Robert Fripp (of King Crimson), Mahavishnu Orchestra, and Miles Davis inspired original compositions, and intricate funk bass themes, KungFusion moves through time signature modulations effortlessly creating raw passionate music!

KungFusion - “Movements”: Heavy funk fusion laden with ripping guitar solos.

"Jaafarmusic presents" has unearthed from the vaults these recordings of KungFusion , a power trio of heavy funk fusion, Troy Cole – bass (of Jaafar), Mike Nicholson – guitar, and Dave Elias – drums, accompanied by brother Bill Elias on percussions. These are 2 ep’s – a studio recording from the summer of 1995, and a live recording at the end of 1994.

Mike Nicohlson - guitar

Dave Elias - Drums
